Any really good or very bad experiences flying on commercial airlines?

Manfred's Widow asked: I once had a bad experience with severe air turbulence while flying over the Ohio River. The pilot kept saying, "It will be better soon," but it kept getting worse. I thought we were going to die.Jatinder
