Flying Overseas: Why is east to west Slower than flying west to east on an Airplane?

jojomontreal2000 asked: When flying from Canada or America to Europe the flight over is slower than the flight back. Some say it is the tail winds , others the earths rotation. What do you think ?Wing-Man
