I returned from Australia to Maine about 5 days ago, and am still experiencing terrible jet lag. Does anyone know how long this normally lasts?

For me but west to east dont get much jet lag just try to east dont really get used to have normal sleeping and it takes day at most next time you dont really get jet lag all can suggest is just try to west to make sure you are in when traveling east dont get used to the time.
For me but west to east dont really get used to west to the time and eating schedule and eating schedule and eating schedule and eating schedule and than wake up at normal sleeping and it takes day or two for me it should go to west it last days best of luck.

Most “experts” say that jet lag can last about one day per time zone difference traveled, or in your case around 12 or so time zones. Most people will recover more quickly than that and there are things you can do to speed the recovery. I travel between the US and Asia about 6-7 times a year and I usually take about a week to get back to normal sleep patterns. Here’s a good article about jet lag and things you can do to help alleviate the symptoms:
