How easy is it to change your flight home after flying to the destination?

Im currently in Capetown, after flying via London from Toronto. I want to change my flight on the way home so that I can stay in London for a week before flying home to Toronto. Can I do this? Anyone have any idea how much this would cost? Thanks, I am flying with Air Canada/Star Alliance members.

If you flew economy, it will be very expensive. This is because you want to change one ticket into two, and it is always more expensive to do this.
